Earlier this year, we released our Symrise North America Top Trends Report for 2018+. Symrise continually tracks trending foods, beverages, flavors and ingredients from around world with our Global TrendScope. For our 2018+ North America report, we collaborated with StarChefs to survey a wide-ranging group of chefs, pastry chefs, and mixologists to explore what flavors will go from restaurant menus to grocery store shelves in the near future.
The team also examined intriguing flavors and ingredients that we saw bubbling up on restaurant menus through menu research and by trekking in various cities around the US. The 2018+ report includes 10 trends with 4 specific ingredient examples for each trend.
Now that we’ve reached the end of 2018, we decided to look back at the flavors from our report that indeed made it onto the shelves at stores across America and Canada. After examining product launches across multiple categories for 2018, we are delighted to bring you the report below with product examples for all 10 our 2018 Top Trends.
