Last week, members of the Symrise team attended the 61st Annual Summer Fancy Food Show at Javits Center in New York City. We grabbed our notebooks, cameras, and bags and hopped on the ferry to cross the Hudson river for 3 food-filled days of tasting, talking and learning about the latest offerings in food and beverage.
This year's show, presented by the Specialty Food Association, featured over 2,600 exhibitors spread out across the Javits Center. The far north side featured their "What's New, What's Hot" showcase celebrating the latest and greatest products and trends at the show. The lower level featured American exhibitors, some of which were split by state, including New York (and even an aisle for Brooklyn), Vermont and Kansas, to name a few. The upper level was split by country with large showcases from Italy, Mexico, France and Greece, as well as an American Cheese Pavilion.
Our goal was to find the top trends from the show. We tried to see as much of the show as possible and track down trends that we saw first hand, including flavor trends. Our team has put together the standout trends from this year's show in the slide show below.
