What beverage allows you to escape reality and lets you imagine you're on a beautiful island?  If you answered with ' a Tiki beverage' then you are spot on.  The Tiki craze began in the 30's when Ernest Raymond Beaumont-Gantt (Donn Beach) opened up  Beachcomber, a tiki legend.  By the 70's Tiki lost it's popularity and the trend faded.  Now, here we are in 21st century and Tiki is back in full force.

Millennials as well as Boomers are looking for a place to go where the atmosphere is fun and fantasy-like  and the drinks are colorful and tasty. Whether you have a Mai Tai, Zombie, or Beachcomber, it's just nice to relax and enjoy food and good drinks with friends after a long day.

A perfect Tiki beverage should consist of  rum, fruit, layers of flavor and spice topped off with a garnish.  What more can you ask for!  Chicago's Three Dots and a Dash has an interesting line up of tiki cocktails.  One of their featured cocktails,  the 'Painkiller' consists of rums, coconut, pineapple, blood orange, vanilla and cream.
