Since 2009, Symrise's Flavor Marketing and Consumer Insights team has been taking a penetrating look into how Hispanics, the largest ethnic group in the U.S., are influencing food and beverage choices among mainstream consumers.

Our studies show that a prime example of the Latino influence is in the growing array of tropical flavors that some are enjoying for the first time in Hispanic beverages and foods. Tropical fruits are delighting the palates of every ethnic group across the country in a myriad of refreshing non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and in desserts, confectionery, baked goods, side dishes and sauces.

In the infographic below, we have laid out some of the standout tropical fruit flavors along with a few other Latin inspired flavors that are making an impact in the United States. Along with each flavor, you'll find a scale that shows how the flavor scored either on its own or combined with another flavor among consumers in a Symrise consumer research study.
