On a soggy Saturday afternoon, James Volpe, 29, of Massapequa, took shelter under one of several rain-spattered tents at the Peconic Bay Winery in Cutchogue. Volpe had already sampled several hard apple ciders at the third annual Pour the Core festival, in which more than two dozen cideries participated.
