The results are in and the latest food and beverage trends have been revealed. The 42nd annual Winter Fancy Food Show, both riveting and enlightening, just took place in the San Francisco Moscone Center January 22-24, 2017. Innovations from more than 1,400 beverage, food and packaging exhibitors were showcased just waiting to be discovered. Symrise, determined to be at the forefront of the latest trends, was among the masses to attend this exciting event and discover what’s hot and trending this year in food and beverages specifically focusing on Millennials and the up and coming Gen Z. Transparency, health and wellness along with nostalgic and indulgence were the driving forces behind what retailers displayed during this year’s event.
Move over matcha as turmeric, toffee and cherry are taking center stage and crossing over into various beverage and food categories. Turmeric can now be sipped in Pok Pok Som soda while toffee is tastefully savored in Hope & Harmony’s Butter Toffee peanuts. We also identified many new niche and start up brands that are shaking up the food and beverage industry and competing for space on the shelves.
