Set in Setagaya, one of Tokyo's more affluent wards, the neighborhood of Sangen-Jaya is less than 10 minutes from the world-famous Shibuya crossing by train. It's full of old shops, tightly-packed homes and, like much of the rest of Tokyo, narrow, winding streets. Yet despite its proximity to downtown, Sangen-Jaya maintains a surprisingly peaceful aura.
