When Dolce & Gabbana whisked the fashion flock to Taormina in Domenico Dolce's native Sicily to launch its Alta Moda collection in the summer of 2012, I had such a good time frolicking in the shade of steaming Mt. Etna that I vowed to return to this fascinating island as soon as I could. What a dream it was, then, to romp through the island from Palermo to Catania for a week and to discover so many unexpected treasures.
