Symrise is excited to announce that we will be joining a whole host of culinary professionals and passionate industry experts and foods in attending the Research Chefs Association’s (RCA) 2017 Annual Conference & Culinology® Expo from Tuesday, March 14 to Friday, March 17 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Although we will not have a booth this year, we will be in attendance to stay up to date and expand our knowledge on culinary trends and innovations to better inform our research and services for our clients. Our chefs are eager to meet and network with the industry’s finest and hear about the latest trends going on in the food industry from our culinary colleagues.
The melting pot of international tastes and flavors that influence the food of Puerto Rico is the perfect place for this year’s conference, especially with Americans’ growing appreciation and desire for more worldly flavors to be available on menus nationwide. Of course, our chefs are excited to be able to venture out and experience those flavors for themselves, too, from the myriad of amazing restaurants the area has to offer!
RCA’s Annual Conference & Culinology® Expo
The RCA is a group of over 2,000 culinary experts, including chefs, food scientists and other industry professionals, who are passionate about shaping the future of food research and dedicated to finding innovative solutions for overcoming challenges facing the everchanging food product industry. Their term, Culinology®, is the blending of culinary arts and the science of food, which is well showcased every year during this bringing together of industry professionals, from students, to seasoned professional chefs, to scientists and more.
Among competitions, awards and lots of amazing food, the Culinology® Expo will feature sponsored educational breakout and general sessions, including ones on the popularity of meal kit delivery services and the culture of snacking, throughout the convention alongside over 75 exhibitors and partners showcasing their expertise and offerings.
There will also be three keynote presentations, led by some of the industry’s leading experts: “Food Across Generations” by father-son duo Augusto and Andreas Schreiner discussing their shared passion for food; “Culinary X-Ray Vision” by Culinary Scientist Ali Bouzari, Ph.D. on bridging the gap between food scientists and chefs; and “Refining Your Brand Perception Through Culinary Innovation” by Neville Craw, Brand Executive Chef & Vice President Culinary Innovation, Arby's Inc., who will reveal two new innovative products from Arby’s.
Needless to say, we can’t wait to see what these culinary masterminds bring to the table this year!
